Working with young people has always been a passion of mine. The idea of this career counselling program was originally conceived by my good friend, Ernest Uzezi. She had envisioned a small gathering of about ten teens, but I saw the potential to expand it into a larger event. We settled on the theme, "After School, What Next?"
The journey began with the formation of a planning committee composed of these talented young individuals. I was truly impressed by their creativity and enthusiasm.
I would like to extend my heartfelt appreciation to our guest speakers: Mrs. Tosin Taiwo, Miss Uzezi Ernest, Mr. Taiwo Ajisafe, and Mr. Goodluck. Their powerful words deeply resonated with the young attendees, making the event engaging and impactful.
The refreshments were wonderful, and I want to sincerely thank those who supported us financially. Your contributions are greatly appreciated.
During the program, one participant performed a spoken word piece titled "Identity." Her exceptional performance earned her a prize of twenty thousand naira, thanks to the generosity of our guests.
Additionally, we launched The Elites' Tech Community (TETC), a platform for teens interested in technology to connect, learn, and innovate.
As we concluded the event, we answered the theme question with: After school, get a LIFE—Learn, Innovate, Flourish, and Explore.
We also launched our Junior Secondary School, Elites' College. Please celebrate this milestone with us.
Thank you all for making this event unforgettable.
